Wow...I can't believe that my little man is a whole year old. It seems a little surreal that a year ago the husband and I had just brought home this tiny pink blob. Some how we managed to keep it together and made it through the first bath, sleep deprivation, feeding every two hours, and everything else that came our way. Now I feel like an old pro...until of course something new presents itself. I find that just when I feel like I've got Liam and his "routine" figured out he throws me for a loop.
We've had a very eventful 12th month, many milestones reached and he's learning new things every day.
~ weight: 19.13 lbs. height: 73.5 cm
~ still wearing some 6-9 month clothing, some 12 month and some 12-18 month
~ he's learned to 'high five'
~ started to walk assisted, so funny because he actually wants to run
and his feet get out from under him
~ loves to "read", opens and closes books all day long
~ he adores animals and goes crazy for dogs
(I think we'll have to get one sooner than later)
~ points at birds in the sky and then talks to me about them (making sure I saw them too)
~ Liam has almost figured out how to go from his knees to pull himself up to standing
~ we are finally feeding ourselves
(this was a very drama filled process and many meals involved food throwing and tears ~ his not mine)
~ loves all food and now totally enjoys feeding himself, he doesn't want us to do any of it for him
~ he's sleeping through the night, bedtime at 8ish and sleeps until 8 am
~ I finished breastfeeding this month, so he's fully weaned. Sort of sad about this, but I took my lead from Liam and he seemed to be done with it.
~ takes two naps a day, short one in the morning and a long one in the afternoon
~ he's very talkative, especially when he wants to show us something
~ he's learning to share and will give things to Rob or I when he's playing
I'm excited for what the second year of his life will bring for all of us.
Happy one year little man!
I love you more and more everyday.
