wow.  these photos have been sitting in a blank post for a while now.

had every intention of posting this earlier.

but ya know.

liamisms ~ vol. 2

straight from the mouths of babes.  some of the things that come out of my sons mouth seriously crack me up.  lately he's been mainly focused on his bodily functions and parts.  it must be a guy thing because every time he farts he laughs and thinks it the funniest thing ever.  awesome.  one day i hope he looks back at some of these and cracks up all over again.

sitting on the potty ~ "daddy the poop isn't coming out.  i think it's having dinner right now."

"mommy i think i'm going to go to sleep now.  i had a hard day at audrey's."  (our day home)

"my bum makes noises." of course he's got an ear to ear grin to match.

"i love everyone."

"my truck doesn't have a bum, it just has wheels."

"remember when you were a princess?  i was there.  i was batman." ~  he referring to a picture of me on my wedding day.

"i coughed because the chicken hurts me."  love how he uses this to get out of eating dinner.

old man winter

and so we are back to winter.  it was such a nice fall here and then just like that, bam.  winter.  no transition.  just a whole lot of snow and cold.  we've already had two pretty big snowfalls in the last two weeks.  liam's totally stoked that it's snowing again.  he's been asking to go out sledding with uncle pete, but he doesn't arrive until mid-december.  so in the mean time we just spent part of sunday afternoon bundling the kids up, then unbundling liam so he could go pee, re-bundling and heading out to our winter wonderland for some snow fun.  averie wasn't to happy about the whole snowsuit/boots combo ... at first anyway.  she got really pissed off when i tried to put a toque on her and don't even get me started on the mitten meltdown.  but once we were outside and falling in the snow she started to realize that it wasn't so bad after all.  she even outlasted liam, who decided that it was definitely hot chocolate time after about half an hour.

i'm not sure that i was really ready for winter ... but playing in the snow helped to remedy that.  bring it on old man winter.  bring it on.

life {lately} ~ vol. 19: our october

dumped a ton of photos off my phone.

we've had just a few things going on over the last three/four weeks.

thank god for iphone.  seems it's the only camera i'm using these days.

i've made a promise to myself to not only charge the battery in the slr.  

but to actually use it to take photos instead of it just sitting on the counter.

in mean time ... while the battery is charging, 

here's what we've been up to.

it was thanksgiving which means turkey, turkey, turkey 

and pumpkin pie.

finally took liam in for a haircut.  he opted to sit on the motorbike this time.

the last of my fall runs, it's all snowy now.  

pumpkin hunting ~ 2013

and just like that it is november.  been awhile since my last post.  what can i say.  that is life right now.  and i'm okay with that.  october was crazy busy for us.  there was thanksgiving, my dad's 60th birthday, halloween and hunting for pumpkins.  the latter being one of my favourite fall things to do.  we didn't make out last year, mother nature didn't cooperate and provided us with snow and cold temperatures last october.  but this year, fall was beautiful.  today not so much ... 10 - 25 centimetres of snow before tomorrow morning, welcome winter.  but october, it was fall-tastic.

we are pretty lucky.  we live only a couple block from the farm where the  pumpkin hunt happens.  one of the perks of living right on the edge of the city.  and totally convenient with an added bonus of being home in time for lunch and naps.  liam had a great time hunting for his pumpkin this year. (remember a couple years ago?)  he also loved chasing after and talking to the goats.  averie was a little more cautious and not really sure what to make of the whole thing.  i think next year she'll be more into it.
