saw it. pinned it. doing it ~ elf-tastic

this year we started a new family tradition.  one that i hope will continue well into when the kids are teenagers and beyond.  i hadn't actually ever heard of elf on the shelf until i saw it on pinterest.  let's be honest here ... there are many things that i probably would have never known about had i not joined pinterest.  countless hours have been wasted spent searching pinterest for 'amazing' cleaning techniques, outfits, recipes, diy's and everything else i never knew i needed to know/wanted.  but elf on the shelf?  why had i never heard of this before?  an elf to watch the kids and make them behave?  that is totally awesome.  so back in october i ordered elf on the shelf from chapters and have been patiently waiting for his adventures begin.  i'd been pinning a ton of ideas on my 'tis the season board since like july and finally on december first we welcomed 'hermey' the elf for the forseeable christmas future.

to help with the organized chaos that has become my existence, i had sit down and make a list of things for hermey to do.  such a good idea considering i lose and/or forget many things during any given day.  again ... thank you lingering pregnancy brain.  every night (okay i've missed a couple) i figure out where hermey's going to go and what he's going to be doing.  and every morning when i get liam and averie up we go on a hunt for him calling out all over the house "hermey, where are you?"  i remember when sleeping in was what i looked forward to every morning.  now it's coffee and hunting around my house looking for an elf.  wow, things have changed!  but i do love it.  absolutely.  love it.
