thirty weeks

hey look ... i actually blogged.  yup, i'm still here.  been busy finishing up report cards, having father's day, camping.  you know the usual.  it's kind of sad that i actually forgot to do a post for twenty-nine weeks.  seriously ... i actually forgot.  didn't even realize it until i sat down to do this one.  hmmmm.  think pregnancy brain is to blame for that one.  oh well.  welcome to thirty weeks!!  hurray i can almost feel the end drawing closer.  i'm starting to get excited about meeting our baby girl.  it's definitely been a very different pregnancy than it was with liam.  for that one i was excited and anxious the entire pregnancy.  this one.  not so much.  it's only really been in the last couple weeks that i've really realized that we are adding a daughter to our family.  and that i'm so totally stoked for liam to be a big brother.  maybe it's because i've already been through this experience?  maybe i've just been too busy with the other things life has thrown our way?  whateves ... i'm excited now and that's what counts!!

how far along? thirty weeks
total weight gain:  up to 165 lbs. at my weigh in on thursday.  that's a total of 32 lbs.  not bad considering liam gave me a 55 lbs. weight gain in total.  and he wasn't a big baby either.
maternity clothes? totally.  loving my maxi dresses and bring on the leggings.  my maternity jeans are starting to get a little uncomfortable though.
stretch marks?  zero!
sleep: not great over the last two weeks.  it's a combination of things though.  first, just a little bit of stress, trying to make sure that all of my marking and report cards got done before this weekend.  second, baby girl loves to do her spins and jabs around 3 in the morning.  and third, i find i just can't get into a comfortable position or i have to pee fifty-five times a night.  i'm functioning pretty well though.  i nap when i can.
best moment this week:  there were a few really great moments this week.  heard baby girl's heart beat, hung out with liam all day on thursday, went camping with the family on the weekend ... and we picked our name!!!  not going to tell until she's arrived, but we finally settled on one and both of us are very happy about it.
miss anything?  being able to bend over and put on my shoes.  walking instead of waddling.  one of my students actually pointed out that i look like a duck when i walk.  awesome.
movement:  she's very very very active at night.  perhaps she's a night owl?
food cravings:  not really anymore.  or not any that i can actually think of.  again ... pregnancy brain??
anything making your queasy or sick: heartburn, heartburn, heartburn.  what is it they say?  if you have heartburn then baby will be born with lots of hair.  she is must be one hairy baby girl.
gender: girl
labour signs: braxton hicks have made their appearance.  but other than that, nothing.
symptoms:  heartburn.
belly button in or out? in
wedding rings on or off?  rings have been going back on.  swelling has been down, i think i may have not been drinking enough water.  why drink water when their is chocolate soy instead?
happy or moody most of the time?  happy.  really really happy.  even with the lack of sleep.  totally and completely happy!!
looking forward to: finishing the last five days of work this week.  then i can sort of relax, only have the house to pack up and hang out with the most awesome little dude.  i don't think i've ever been this excited to finish work for the summer year.

  1. I think you're looking absolutely fab for 30 weeks.
It's so funny what you say about this pregnancy feeling different. It makes me feel kind of guilty in a way, like I'm not as excited, which I am. I think it just doesn't play on your mind as much the second time because you're not entering the unknown in quite the same way.
Well done on picking our your name. Can't wait to hear it when the little lady arrives. We're getting closer on the name front, but like you, we're being secretive. X
