another week another update. it's unfortunate that i'm not blogging as often as i'd like. but until i'm done work i fear that bump updates will be the most frequent post here. june is the busiest month of the year for a teacher. especially a teacher who is pregnant and has to clear out her classroom. is it wrong to have your students do this for you?? they're willing and able.
how far along? twenty-eight weeks
total weight gain: i hit 163 lbs. this week. according to my midwife i'm doing great for weight gain. when i saw her on thursday she was all thumbs up.
maternity clothes? i'm starting to wish that i didn't have to get dressed in the morning. it just takes too much effort, however i'm not sure that pajama pants and a tank top is appropriate teacher attire.
stretch marks? zero!
sleep: so so this week. we got a summer weight comforter. finally. that has kind of helped with the overheating. otherwise the sleep has been pretty good. i think that i just get so freaking tired that i crash.
best moment this week: hearing baby girls strong heartbeat on thursday morning. also finding out that there is no gestational diabetes present. oh ya, and did i mention that we sold our house!!! woo-hoo. it was only on the market for twenty-four hours and we had one open house. someone just really wants to live here. things are starting to fall into place.
miss anything? i could go for a really really really cold beer right about now. not even the pretend beer is cutting it these days. soon enough, soon enough.
movement: mostly jabs and kicks. midwife says she's already head down, but to not be surprised if she rolls from front to back more often now.
food cravings: watermelon, watermelon and watermelon. oh and apples with that watermelon please.
anything making your queasy or sick: only the heartburn if i forget to take a zantac. unfortunately that is becoming more frequent ... the forgetting. hurray baby brain.
gender: girl
labour signs: nada
symptoms: my hemoglobin levels are low. baby girl is depleting me of my iron stores. not surprising as i was already on iron supplements way before 28 weeks when i was pregnant with liam. but i'm going to try and add more iron to my diet first and then try a homeopathic remedy if that doesn't work. if both of those fail then bring on the gross iron drops. bleck!
belly button in or out? in
wedding rings on or off? rings have been coming off when i get home from work. by the end of the day my fingers and toes are starting to look a little more like sausages. only 3 more weeks of work.
happy or moody most of the time? all over the place this week. hormones have been a little crazy. thank goodness for a really patient husband. one minutes i'm happy the next i'm a ball of crazy and then i'm a heap of tears. all for no apparent reason. wow. i now know what it's like to be a toddler.
looking forward to: getting a final possession date for the new house, could be as early as the end of august. also looking forward to father's day next weekend. we've got some good stuff planned for daddy.
happy weekend!!
happy weekend!!

It's totally a good idea to get your students to clear out your classroom for you. When I was expecting last time I ended up having to drag my husband in over the Christmas break to clear out my room (I left mid January) as by that point I was too big and pregnant to actually do very much. I didn't think to get the kids to help!
ReplyDeleteYou're looking really well. Fingers crossed school finishing comes round really fast. X
