twelve weeks

finally a baby bump post.  and look at that bump!  umm, since when does three months pregnant look like five?  this bump "popped" out at nine weeks and hasn't changed since.  i feel like it's been ages since i posted that we were expecting.  i guess it's because it has been.  and actually i hit twelve weeks last thursday.  so i'm a little behind ... let's get caught up shall we.

life at twelve weeks is pretty much the same as it has been for the last 6 weeks.  full of exhaustion and nausea.  i feel sort of like i've become a zombie.  i get up, feel nauseous, eat something, feel okay for the rest of the day.  get home, feel nauseous, make dinner, force feed myself, feel nauseous.  see a trend.  put liam to bed, feel nauseous, i go to bed too.  did i mention it's only 7:30 pm?  wake up middle of the night, feel nauseous, head to the toilet.  then my day repeats.  this baby is kicking my ass.  i was nauseous with liam, but never actually got sick like i do this time round.  yeesh.  fingers and toes are crossed that it'll all end in a week or two.

in case you missed it, i'm totally showing.  pretty much everyone at work had already guessed that i was pregnant before i told them.  they were all "ya, we can tell."  so much for surprises.  as far as food cravings go, not too many so far.  my favourite thing to eat right now is whole wheat bread slathered in nutella, and cantaloupe.  i do have some pretty serious food aversions though.  poultry is currently not allowed, nor are leftovers.  i just cannot stomach eating leftovers at all.  the husband is totally okay with this, more for him.  otherwise, no other food cravings or aversions.  i'm sure they'll pop up later on.

i've been having total baby girl on the brain.  when i was pregnant with liam, right at the beginning up until about four months i was sure i was having a boy.  then for some reason it switched to girl, girl, girl.  perhaps it was wishful thinking?  right now, all i feel is girl vibes.  again, is this just wishful thinking?  to be perfectly honest it doesn't really matter what we have.  a pink chubby bundle of healthy baby is all i really want!  boy or girl we will love it more than i know now.

not sure if i'll do a thirteen week post as i hit that stage tomorrow.  we'll see.  maybe it'll just be a week late too : )  happy wednesday!!

nineteen months

liam hit nineteen months on friday last week.  i'm finding it impossible to think that in five short months we will be the parents of a two year old!  i feel like we just celebrated his first birthday.  i think the last time i did a monthly post for liam was seventeen months?  maybe sixteen months?  well regardless, the last couple few months have been so much fun.  liam is changing so quickly from baby boy to little dude.  it seems like there's something new everyday.  a new word or sound effect.  a new experience or action.  the discovery a new toy or how to use a toy in a totally different way.  i'm in awe of him at this age and i love being able to see the world through his eyes.  it really makes me appreciate all the little things and to have fun.  just for the sake of having fun.

liam at nineteen months:
~ his words seem to increase daily, but as of today he has the following:
     - buts (for either a bus or truck)
     - cat, dog, cow, puppy and can make the noise for each...he also does a pretty tame lion roar
     - mommy, daddy, me-iam (for liam)
     - peez (please) and more
     - coo-kee, always wants more cookies
     - shoo (shoe), ball
     - hi and bye
     - no and mine, quickly becoming his favourites
     - vroom vroom and beep beep, is obsessed with cars
     - and tons and tons of babble

~ points to his nose, head, toes, eyes, ears, mouth, tongue, and belly
~ he lifts up my shirt and points to my belly when we ask him where the baby is, super cute
~ went for his last round of vaccinations at the beginning of the month, he was a trooper.  only had tears when the needles went in but was fine after some snuggles
~ he's hit 23 lbs. and 32 inches, measuring in the 25th/50th percentile.  he's just going to be little i think
~ will say "bye" and hug his puppy when he's put to bed, we're working on "i love you" and "good night"
~ we have a climber and daredevil on our hands.  liam climbs on everything and anything and has no problem throwing himself off or around it.  many many bruises and tears.  but hasn't learned from it yet.
~ the temper tantrums have begun, but aren't too bad.  the husband and i are of the same mind.  leave him alone and ignore him.  once he realizes we aren't paying attention it quickly stops.
~ liam's had his first few time-outs the last couple weeks.  we're in a throwing and hitting phase (i'm told this is not uncommon).  most recently he threw the ketchup bottle off the table and it went everywhere.  i mean every. where.  he knew immediately that he was in trouble and just sat on the stairs watching us clean it all up, head down.  in the end he got his "we don't throw things" talk, a hug and kiss and all was well again.

i love love love this age.  i look forward to every day with him more and more.  everything we can teach him and experience with him.  he's becoming such a little dude!  i love you liam and can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.

weekend according to iphone

once again, our weekends are way more exciting than our week days.  seriously.  weekdays consist of breakfast, day-home and work, dinner and bedtime.  repeat.  last weekend was pretty darn fun.  started out with some fun breakfast for liam.  saw the palm tree idea on pinterest and had to give it a whirl.  liam had it disassembled within seconds.  i know he appreciated my creativity.  got ourselves presentable and  it was off to do some shopping.  time for some prego-lady pants.  i wore through my few pair i bought last time round.  can i just say that i love h&m and old navy maternity right now.  some great finds.  oh, and this week i'm going to start posting about the baby belly.  hit that magic 12 weeks and the belly is a growing.   i can't believe how much bigger i feel and yet i'm 15 pounds lighter now then i was when i was preggers with liam.  we got home and found an empty huggies box in liam's room.  best. toy. ever.  liam is still playing with it.  who needs to buy toys when there's an empty box?

any who.  that was saturday.  sunday morning brought a lazy breakfast and reading the paper.  liam's so funny he needs something to read too.  he got caught up on all the latest interior decorating trends via style at home.  it was super nice out so we thought a trip to the mountains was in order.  we're having a very strange february around here.  little snow and uber warm.  no complaining here though.  we went to the upper kanasksis lake for a walk about and a picnic lunch, that was mostly eaten in the car.  it was just nice to get some fresh air and be in nature for awhile.

we're linking up with amy again this week.
happy wednesday.
