liam hit nineteen months on friday last week. i'm finding it impossible to think that in five short months we will be the parents of a two year old! i feel like we just celebrated his first birthday. i think the last time i did a monthly post for liam was seventeen months? maybe sixteen months? well regardless, the last
liam at nineteen months:
~ his words seem to increase daily, but as of today he has the following:
- buts (for either a bus or truck)
- cat, dog, cow, puppy and can make the noise for each...he also does a pretty tame lion roar
- mommy, daddy, me-iam (for liam)
- peez (please) and more
- coo-kee, always wants more cookies
- shoo (shoe), ball
- hi and bye
- no and mine, quickly becoming his favourites
- vroom vroom and beep beep, is obsessed with cars
- and tons and tons of babble
~ points to his nose, head, toes, eyes, ears, mouth, tongue, and belly
~ he lifts up my shirt and points to my belly when we ask him where the baby is, super cute
~ went for his last round of vaccinations at the beginning of the month, he was a trooper. only had tears when the needles went in but was fine after some snuggles
~ he's hit 23 lbs. and 32 inches, measuring in the 25th/50th percentile. he's just going to be little i think
~ will say "bye" and hug his puppy when he's put to bed, we're working on "i love you" and "good night"
~ we have a climber and daredevil on our hands. liam climbs on everything and anything and has no problem throwing himself off or around it. many many bruises and tears. but hasn't learned from it yet.
~ the temper tantrums have begun, but aren't too bad. the husband and i are of the same mind. leave him alone and ignore him. once he realizes we aren't paying attention it quickly stops.
~ liam's had his first few time-outs the last couple weeks. we're in a throwing and hitting phase (i'm told this is not uncommon). most recently he threw the ketchup bottle off the table and it went everywhere. i mean every. where. he knew immediately that he was in trouble and just sat on the stairs watching us clean it all up, head down. in the end he got his "we don't throw things" talk, a hug and kiss and all was well again.
i love love love this age. i look forward to every day with him more and more. everything we can teach him and experience with him. he's becoming such a little dude! i love you liam and can't wait to see what tomorrow will bring.

me-iam?? That's the cutest thing I've ever heard! Happy 19 months, Liam!
