wordless{ish} wednesday ~ averie's photo shoot

way back at the beginning of october we went for some family pictures/averie's baby shoot.  we used the same photographer from our fall photo shoot last year.  rosie also did liam's baby pictures as well as my maternity pics.  she is freaking awesome.  not only did she get some great photos of averie, she was able to get some smiley ones from liam ... who of course was in a pouty "i'm afraid of strangers" kinda' mood that day.  there were a few times during the shoot that he absolutely refused to get in front of the camera, opting instead to play with the alphabet blocks or his dump truck.  whatev's, we got them anyway.

Last weekend we went for our family photo shoot.  Family pictures were never something I really did when I was growing up.  I think this is why I'm so obsessed with doing them now.  We met our photography, Rosie, in Bowness Park and apparently we chose the best weekend to go!  All the leaves finally turned the week before.  It just felt so darn fall-ish.  Here's a "snapshot" of our photos.  They all turned out amazing.  Thanks Rosie!!

In about a month we are going for our second annual family photo session.  Family photos were never a big thing in my family growing up (perhaps this is why I love doing them now ... hmmmmm??)  But I'm determined that at least once a year we'll do a set of family photos.  Last year we went and saw the amazing Rosie (Little Laughs Photography, she did the shot of our feet ... our old header) and we loved the photos so much we're going with her again this year.  With a twist.  Last year Liam was itty bitty, so we went to her studio.  This year we're venturing into the great outdoors in hopes of fall colours.  We've got our fingers and toes crossed the weather co-operates.  Then again, rain could make for some fun photos.

I'd like to send a shout out to pinterest as it has allowed me to hoard gather inspiration for pictures.  I'm not one for the traditional family pose ... I'd much rather have something beautiful, artsy, and interesting.  So here's a sample from my hoarding gathering ; )
