bye bye house

seven years ago in june, the husband and i moved into our first house together.  this was the beginning of our life.  this house was totally "us".  we made all the selections, chose the carpet, the exterior colours, the lot, everything.  and now we are saying good bye to it.  today we start our move to the new house and by tomorrow night it will be the place we call home from now on.

i have mixed feelings about leaving this house.  on the one hand i am completely excited to move into our new house.  it's beautiful.  but, leaving our old one means the loss of familiarity.  it was the home we built together.  we got married while we were living here, we brought our son home to this house, all of his "firsts" (so far) have been here.

however sad i feel i do remind myself that we will have many, many, many firsts happen in our new home too.  it will be the house we bring our baby girl home to.  it will be where liam learns to ride his bike all on his own.  we will share and create many memories during the holidays.  and in a short while i'm sure that it will be and feel like "home" and not just the new house.  i am excited for all the things go come as we move into a new chapter of our family.  not just a new house but a new family member too.  and both a due to arrive on the same day, we'll see what baby girl's plans are.  we are hoping that she will either arrive before move day on friday or after.  just not on ... but in the event that does happen, oh well.  it'll make for some great stories later on.

tomorrow we move to our new house and say bye bye to this house.  we will miss you.  you have been very good to us and hope your new owners love you as much as we have.

it may be awhile until i post again.  i promise there will at least be a baby update post, either 40 weeks bumpdate or welcome baby girl.  whichever i get to first.  until then, wishing everyone a happy long weekend and can't believe it's almost september!!
