this is the second house that rob and i have lived through building together. we built our current house about seven and a half years ago. at the end of june we'll have been here together for seven years! it's hard to believe it's been that long. honestly doesn't feel that way. i have no idea where the time seems to be going. it's like it just disappears.
when we built our current house we chose an earthy colour palette of brown, red, orange, grey, taupe, all in varying shades. it all worked very well together and we get compliments on it all the time. but, it was not the route i wanted to go for the new house. because of all the windows in the new house and being surrounded by trees i was pushing for more of a blue/green colour scheme. lucky for me rob was on the same page. choosing our paint colours this time round was very easy. for the most part. i did have to do a little convincing on a few of them. yes we have more than one colour going in. it cost a little more to have the builder paint some of the rooms different colours, but honestly in the end it'll be worth it. we won't have time to paint when we move in because of baby girl arriving around the time we take possession. so it made sense to choose our colours and have them already done.
we also decided to have two of our bathrooms painted before we move in. it's so much easier to have the painters do it before the tub, tile, vanity and toilet go in. it also means one less job for us to do when we move in. we choose to go with a very pale green, glidden cil: mirror lake (right) for the kids bathroom. and for the ensuite we colour matched behr's: delicate mist (left).
i'm really looking forward to seeing what these colours will look like in the spaces. we've still got awhile to wait until that happens. drove by the house yesterday and it was fully shingled. we're hoping to do our framing walk-through next week. wonder how long it will take for them to get drywall up??
have a happy sunday!
