nursery planning for the new house

way way way back when, you may have recalled that we started the process of building a new house.  talk about good timing.  we're gonna need it now that we're adding to the family.  our current house only has two bedrooms upstairs.  not that it would be a travesty if our kids were to share a room.  anyways.  we are still at the exact same spot we were when i first posted about the house.  there has been nothing done by the builder in the last five months!!  not even a hole.  initially we were given a possession date of july 15th.  fat chance now.  i think we'll be lucky to get in by september ... eleven months after we started.

i'm undecided whether this is a good thing or a bad thing.  it could go either way.  good in the respect that maybe it'll be easier to move after baby has been born.  i won't be super duper pregnant anymore and really a newborn sleeps, eats and poops.  it will be tricky with liam.  i think the gramma's will have to step in on that one.  he does have three you know.   but it could be bad too.  with a brand new baby all i'll want to do is hang out and snuggle with liam, baby and husband all day.  not unpack boxes and figure out a new house.

instead of dwelling on these unhappy, uncontrollable things i shall focus on happier thoughts.  like decorating the new nursery.  i would like to send out a huge thank you to the creators of pinterest.  it has really fuelled an obsession.  if i had an unlimited supply of time, i would diy every awesome idea and make/bake/cook everything i drooled over.  but i don't so the focus is on creating a lovely new nursery.  and there is an abundance of inspiration.

if we are entering girl world with baby 2, then i'm totally on board with the purple/lilac nursery.  i've never been one for pink everything.  but purple i can handle.  i'm in love with the tree and hoping that we can pull something like this off too.

in the event that we are having a second boy, not in a bad way, i don't want to go blue.  we've decided on a great blue wall colour for liam's room and i don't want him to feel like baby 2 is getting the same as him.  he needs to feel special.  instead i think something like this is pretty fun.  love green and love orange.

so pretty.  i love the sheers and the panels on the walls.  definitely white furniture.

fun art for the walls.  something i'd like to do for either gender.  i'll just get fabrics to match the colours in the room and bam.  inexpensive, creative and one of a kind pieces of art.  i think it's just the little touches like this that makes a nursery feel cozy.
