hello again

i didn't really intend to ditch the blog for so long, but sometimes we're just having a good time doing other things.  that being said, taking such a long break actually made me realize that i do actually enjoy (and missed) blogging.  i enjoy sharing bits and pieces of my life to the world, and love that there are those of you out there that enjoy hearing about them.  before i took my bloggy vacation i was struggling to find time to blog and really a reason why i liked to blog ... other then for the sake of just blogging.  i mean, that can't just be the only reason right?  wrong.  oh. so. wrong.  why can't i blog because i want to?  so, because it technically is still january, and resolutions can still be made.  my blogging resolution is to blog because i enjoy it.

something else i learned when i took a step back was that i don't have to blog everyday because other people do.  i can blog once a week if i want.  profound i know.  really.  this was something i was laying awake at night thinking about.  seriously, thoughts of blog posts would go through my brain at 3'o clock in the morning.  not the best use of my time.   my stepping away allowed me to come to terms with the fact that i don't have to be like everyone else and i can blog on my own terms.  and really why would i want my blog to be like someone else?  again, this was also one of my profound blog enlightenment's.  i think i got caught up in what other's were doing on their blogs, not in a bad way, and thought i should try things like them.  but then that's not me.  and that's not what i want for my blog.  second blog resolution, keep my blog true to me and blog on my terms.

i'm really happy to be back in the blog'o'sphere.  i did miss it.  truly.

p.s.
in case you didn't notice...we got a facelift!  liam's auntie mel put this together and it's totally fantastic.  thanks a million mel, you rock our world.
