saw it. pinned it. did it. ~ noel

well another week and another pinterest craft has been completed.  i feel a bit like martha stewart over here.  then again, perhaps not.  i'm not all that interested in insider trading.  but when it comes to super easy do-it-yourself noel signs ... well sign me up (pun was definitely intended).  i've always wanted a sign like this before, however in our old house there was no room.  no where to put it out and no where to put it away.  now that we're in the new house i finally have a place for a sign like this and the storage to house it the other eleven months.  the husband is not too happy about this ... just means we're going to need more and more and more christmas decorations.  'tis the season right?

original pin

materials:

four letters to make 'noel' ~ got mine at michaels $6.99/each (the cashier asked me what i was making with letters that spell 'lone'.  he looked totally confused when i told him they also make the word 'noel')
red craft paint
paint brush
glue
cardboard to attach the letters together (i cut out tabs big enough to connect all the letters together then glued them on)

eat your heart out martha.

wordless{ish} wednesday ~ walkin' in a winter wonderland

on sunday it was the perfect temperature outside and so so so picture-esque we bundled ourselves up and went for a walk around our neighbourhood.  i really love where we live!!  it truly doesn't feel like we're in the city at all.  i look out the back windows and all i see is forest.  we're surrounded by ponds and trees everywhere.  and it's so beautiful when the flakes start falling and everything gets covered in snow.  pretty sure we'll be taking many more walks throughout the month.

see what i mean.
beautiful.
love it.  love. it.
and nothing like raspberry hot chocolate with a splash of baileys to warm you up!

happy wednesday

christmas bucket list 2012

happy december!  this is my most favourite month.  i love all the holiday cheer, family time, wickedly delicious food and parties.  so when i saw katie's winter bucket list last week i was inspired to create a version for our family based on her design.  it needed to include some of our family traditions and all the things that we'd like to do over the holiday season.  also, i now have something tangible to see in order to remember the things i'd like to do ... instead of thinking "hey we should do that" and never remembering it again.  thanks for that lingering pregnancy brain.

i love lists.  and this one takes the cake.  not only is list full of fun things to do, it's pretty darn festive too.  and i've already crossed some of them off!  can't wait to enjoy the rest of our bucket list over the course of the month.

katie has her winter bucket list available for download here.
