thirty-six weeks bumpdate

four weeks.  only four weeks!!!  as much as i'm wishing and hoping that baby girl arrives earlier than four weeks, i have been totally freaking out that that she'll be here in four weeks (or sooner).   have had some mini panic attacks moments this week.  how are we going to do this whole two kid thing?  are we ready for this?  is liam ready for this?  how are we supposed to pack our house and move everything with a toddler and brand new baby?  are we crazy?!?!  this is what has been plaguing me at three in the morning, that and ridiculous heartburn.  my saving grace happens to be my partner in all this chaos.  rob is so busy with the house, work, me, liam, packing, and everything else.  and yet, he stays cool as a cucumber and tells me to take it easy.  rest.  relax.  it'll all get done and we'll be great.  panic moment over.  because of him i know it'll all work out, we'll be okay and no ... we're not crazy.  for the time being anyways.

how far along? thirty-six weeks
total weight gain:   hovering around 169/170 lbs.  haven't moved up or down in weight for about three weeks now.
maternity clothes? yes, but only the most comfortable ones at this point.  the belly is too big to comfortably stay in jeans for an extended period of time.  only a few more weeks of this though.
stretch marks?  zero!
sleep:  this week started off horribly.  waking up at two in the morning and not falling back asleep until four or five.  then magically on wednesday it all changed.  still got up to pee at two, but fell right back asleep until eight!!  and i was able to get an hour nap in everyday this week.  made a big difference in how i've been feeling.
best moment this week:  monday for sure.  i had a pre-natal massage booked and it was glorious!  my hips and back haven't felt that good in weeks ... and they still feel fantastic.  i'm thinking that another one might be in order.  pamper myself now because it's going to be awhile until it'll happen again.
miss anything?:  pretty much anything that is not pregnancy related.  i miss my old clothes, the fact that i used to be able to see my feet, cold beer or a glass of wine.  yup, this is me feeling sorry for myself.  just excuse it for the time being.  all will be well in about two to four weeks.  and we get a wicked prize at the end of this pregnancy thing.  : )
movement:   she's flip flopping from side to side.  she's also dropped quite a bit in the last week.  felt her head at my appointment on thursday.  very happy to see that she's already moved into position.
food cravings: lots and lots of water these days.  i feel like i'm thirsty all the time.  it reminds me of what it was like when i was breast feeding liam.
anything making your queasy or sick: nope
gender: a little lady
labour signs: all kinds of contractions these days.  morning, noon and night.  nothing in the form of a pattern, but they are strong and coming more frequent.  body is really getting ready for the big day.
symptoms:  braxton hicks and heartburn.  my bp was a little on the high side (for me) at my appointment.  normal bp has been 110{ish}/70's and thursday it was 130/82.  midwife said nothing to really be concerned about ... yet.  we'll just keep an eye on it.
belly button in or out? in
wedding rings on or off?   wearing both rings again.  weather has been much cooler this week and i did a happy dance because we had rain for two days.
happy or moody most of the time? happy.  definitely happy.  there is so much to do between chasing liam, packing the house, getting ready for baby girl (as much as we can) and trying to enjoy the last little bit of our life as a family of three and in the house we brought liam home to.  i'm starting to get a little sappy about leaving our house, there are so many memories here.  but at the same time i'm super excited and happy to start making new memories as our family of four in our new home.
looking forward to:   getting more things done.  we have a list ... a gigantic list.  slowly but surely we are crossing things off and that feels great.

what's in my {birth centre} bag?

a long while back i did one of my favourite posts.  what's in my {diaper} bag?  as d-day for baby girl draws nearer i felt it was time to pack up our bag for the birth centre.  it was a little different packing this bag than it was when liam was born.  namely, we went to the hospital for liam and we're not (fingers crossed) for baby girl.  and we needed to pack two bags for the hospital instead of just one.  we needed one for labour and delivery and then another one for post-pardum.  this time round we just need one bag, hence the non-cute bag option here.  hey this one does the trick, don't judge.

there are a few key item changes that i've packed in our bag for this birth that i know i want around for this birth.  also, because we are opting for labour and delivery at a birth centre there are a few more things that we can bring with us.  such as snacks, coconut water and labour-ade, ipod for soothing sounds, bathing suit for rob.

a) ipod for relaxing music.  still need to make the playlist
b) camera, to capture all those special moments
c) bathing suit for rob, just in case he decides to join me in the tub during labour or delivery
d) toiletries - soap, shampoo, toothbrush, vaseline, arnica and calendula
e) gigantic maxi pads for after birth
(these are also ideal for making crotch-sicles:  frozen maxi pads soaked with water & calendula)
f) coconut water for hydration during labour
g) comfy going home clothes for me
h) cozy blankets for baby girl
i) mini bum diapers - forgot just how small these are!!
j) comfy sleepers and hats for baby girl to home in

there's still a few more things that need to make it into the bag, but those will
have to wait until just before we actually leave for the birth centre.

i'm currently working on our birth plan and intend to share it sometime next week.
better get on this one because my midwives told me yesterday that baby girl
is probably going to arrive before her due date.  it's not looking like i'm
going to make it to the end of august.

happy friday!

wordless{ish} wednesday ~ my bike

liam absolutely loves his new bike.  he wants to ride it everywhere and all the time.  if he even catches a glimpse of it he demands to go outside and ride it.  doesn't matter if it's round and round in circles on our patio or if it's up and down the street with daddy.  as long as he's riding "my bike!"

happy wednesday!
