half way there

it's hard to believe that we're already at the halfway point.  well sort of.  it's not like you're pregnant right away ... but we are halfway to 40 weeks.  who knows maybe baby girl will be two and a half weeks early like her big brother.  speaking of big brother i think we have been given a preview of potential "acting out" when baby girl arrives.  as mentioned yesterday, liam has been a disaster.  it doesn't help that both of us have been super sick.  i even stayed home by myself yesterday just to spend the day sleeping.  apparently being pregnant and getting sick don't mix.  my fingers are crossed that we have seen the last of the cold and flu season this year.  please dear god, let it be over!

how far along? 20 weeks, 2 days
total weight gain: lost a pound this week.
maternity clothes? found a dress on the weekend for the wedding the husband and i are going to at the end of the month.  it was a little on the expensive side, but whatever.  i felt awesome in it and that's what counts.
stretch marks?  zero, hopefully it stays that way.
sleep:  again not all that good this week.  but i think it was more due to the fact that liam shared his cold with me and i couldn't breathe.  it really sucks being sick when you're pregnant.  all i could do to easy my yucky symptoms was drink lemon honey water and take some tylenol.  very little help.
best moment this week: finding out the normal results from a "rushed" amniocentesis we had two days after our ultrasound.   i haven't talked about this here yet because i wasn't sure i wanted to.  after much thought and soul searching i realized that i definitely want to share because i know how helpful all the forums i read were for me.  there is a post about why we had an amnio, our experience and feelings about it in the works.  i'll post it when i'm ready.
miss anything?  actually no.  not at all.  maybe i'm finally hitting the "happy" place in this pregnancy?
movement:  she's all over the place.  during the day and at night.  it doesn't matter.
food cravings:  ice cream, ice cream and more ice cream.  i still haven't gone for a blizzard, but i'm not sure that it matters anymore.  we have some ice cream in the house now and that seems to be all i need to deal with this craving.  oh yeah and fruit.  all i want to eat these days is ice cream and fruit.
anything making your queasy or sick:  i don't think so.  not anymore.
gender: girl
labour signs: nada
symptoms:  heartburn and PUPPP.  damn this rash is itchy!!  but it still only exists on my hand.
belly button in or out? in
wedding rings on or off?  on
happy or moody most of the time?  the mood this week fluctuated.  this was a result of our ultrasound and amnio.
looking forward to: going to vancouver island for a wedding at the end of the month.  it'll be the first time rob and i have been away from liam for the whole weekend.  we are in desperate need of some alone adult time.  and i have a feeling that it will be a long while before it ever happens again.  we're kind of looking at it as our babymoon.  we didn't do one for liam.  why not now?

  2. This is my first time to your blog, but I just had to say that you look amazing! I had a PUPPP rash too when I was pregnant and the only thing that helped was mixing baking soda with water and putting all over my stomach. Sounds weird, but it felt REALLY good!
